Under the new GOP tax brackets, a single parent family earning $100,000 per year could pay nearly $4,000 more in taxes than a married couple/family with the same income. An unmarried couple could pay over $3,500 more. For some reason, our lawmakers believe the IRS should be in the marriage business.
