Hyperbole has little room in classical music: too blunt, usually inaccurate, ever unsubtle, mostly unsuitable, and in bad taste. But it gets eyeballs. And with Christian Gerhaher and Gerold Huber re-recording Franz Schubert’s song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin, some hyperbole might just apply.
