Pedestrian Death Highest Since 1990; Fatal Crash Toll Up Significantly In 2016, Second Year In A Row

A total of 37,461 lives were lost on U.S. roads last year, up 5.6 percent from calendar year 2015. It's the second year in a row that deaths in motor vehicle crashes increased, according to new federal fatal traffic crash data released on Friday.
