The vast majority of Iraqi Kurds voted for independence. Although Kurdistan deserves to be independent, it faces opposition from Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. The result so far is isolation and confrontation, and war threatens. Americans should wish Kurds well, but stay out of any conflict.
