21 Months After Learning Of Problem, Mazda Recalls 58,000 Vehicles

About eight days after Mazda learned a wiring problem might keep airbags from deploying in a crash, it had a fix on the assembly line for new models. But it took 21 months - and a meeting with federal safety officials - before there was a recall.
