On the same day this week, lawmakers in two large Midwest states, Illinois & Ohio, advanced tax increases by overriding vetoes from Govs. Bruce Rauner (R-Ill.) & John Kasich (R-Ohio). Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Great Lakes region, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is poised to repeal three entire taxes.
