I did an experiment: check recent CBO predictions about the budget deficit for accuracy. Turns out, the accuracy of CBO predictions deteriorates rapidly. After 2 years, they are no better than random guesses. In the healthcare debate and elsewhere, we should stop citing distant projections as fact.
